The Sunshine Coast (www.sunshinecoastcanada.com) is made up of a number of coastal communities stretching along Highway101 from the ferry terminal at Langdale to the ferry terminal at Earl’s Cove. Each community has its own character and charm. Gibsons, with the spectacular view of the coastal mountains, is the first stop and the most accessible to Vancouver. Lower Gibsons, often referred to as Gibsons Landing, was the home of the long running CBC program “The Beachcombers”. To this day it retains much of the character of that show with its working fishing boats in the harbour and yes, still some active beachcombers.
